If someone asks why your formula contains a paraben, "it's used at a permitted concentration and it's one of the most extensively studied preservative classes in cosmetics" is an honest, defensible answer. "It's not banned, technically" is true but sounds evasive, and probably will not land well.

- If your total combined paraben load across a blend approaches any individual limit, do the math on cumulative concentration, not just each paraben in isolation.
